Sought-after actor Lee Jong-suk is reportedly being cast, along with stars Kim Rae-won, Jung Sang-hoon, and Park Byung-eun, in the new action movie Decibel (working title).

Following reports about Lee’s confirmed participation in the film, his agency A-MAN Project clarified, “Lee Jong-suk received an offer to appear in Decibel. It is among the works that he is currently reviewing.”

Decibel will revolve around the events that ensue when a bomb that responds to sound is found at the center of a city. Thought to be connected to a submarine incident that happened a year ago, submarine commanders, reporters, and members of the Defense Security Support Command come together to stop the impending terrorist attack.

Although no specific details were revealed about Lee Jong-suk’s potential next role, the project may formally mark his comeback to the entertainment industry after getting discharged from the military on January 2. Before his enlistment, Lee last graced the big screen in 2017 with a lead role in the crime-thriller film V.I.P. In addition, he has worked his way to becoming a household name through his outstanding performances in the television dramas W: Two Worlds Apart (2016), While You Were Sleeping (2017), and Romance Is a Bonus Book (2019). Recently, the 31-year-old actor was also reported to be in talks for a special appearance in the upcoming film The Witch 2, to be helmed by director Park Hoon-jung, who also wrote and directed V.I.P.

In December of last year, Kim Rae-won (Crazy Romance), Jung Sang-hoon (Love, Again), and Park Byung-eun (Jo Pil-ho: The Dawning Rage) also received proposals to star in Decibel. Kim is being pulled in to act as Navy Commander Kang Do-young, the key figure linked to the submarine incident that is believed to be the reason behind the present attack; Jung as the passionate reporter Oh Dae-oh; and Park as Cha Young-han, a member of the Defense Security Support Command.

Decibel is set to be spearheaded by director Hwang In-ho of Monster (2014). Under the production of East Dream Synopex, the film targets to begin shooting this spring.
